Alabama Nonprofit and Faith-Based Grant Programs
On July 30, Governor Kay Ivey announced a $50 million grant program to support nonprofit and faith-based organizations that have been financially impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The Alabama Nonprofit Grant Program and the Alabama Faith-Based Grant Program will be awarded to eligible applicants up to $15,000 per organization until funds are depleted. Each program has a $25 million limit.
In general, eligible organizations include 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(6) not-for-profit organizations and faith-based, not-for-profit organizations that are located in Alabama and were established prior to March 1, 2020. The organization must not be involved in partisan political activities and must not engage in lobbying activities.
Eligible expenses include operational costs, personal protective equipment, cleaning and sanitation, and medical expenses.
Organizations that received or expect to receive PPP or other government funds are eligible for this grant, however, expenses covered by PPP or other governmental programs are not eligible.
Applications must be submitted online between August 3, 2020, and noon on August 14, 2020.
