What is the purpose of the loan?
To immediately support small businesses affected by COVID-19 who are awaiting state or federal relief funding or a more stable business environment. Approved loans must be used to support one or more of these efforts: 

• Limit reductions in payroll or staff size
• Maintain business operations
• Fund a business model reconfiguration in response to COVID-19 

Who is eligible? 
For-profit businesses with less than 50 employees located within the Birmingham city limits that have been operating for at least one year are eligible to apply. Non-profit businesses are not eligible to apply for this loan. Businesses must be based in the City of Birmingham and have a City of Birmingham business license.
