A Message on COVID-19

Hello,

We appreciate the trust you have placed in us and are committed to keeping our clients, associates, and community safe. We understand the concern and uncertainty you may be experiencing surrounding the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and are committed to being responsive.

We are monitoring alerts from both the Alabama Department of Public Health and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). We are making necessary adjustments to our operations in response to recommendations from these agencies and are taking all measures necessary to continue to provide excellent client service.

The American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) has requested Treasury Department and IRS provide relief to all taxpayers in light of the uncertainty and challenges caused by the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic. We are monitoring any changes to filing deadlines and will communicate those to you. In the interim, if you need additional time to gather your information and would like us to file an extension on your behalf, please let us know.

We have invested heavily in infrastructure to support our business continuity efforts. We are leveraging those assets and policies and strengthening them where necessary to ensure our firm and our clients are in the best position to succeed without interruption. Some of the specific steps, resources and policies we’re leveraging are outlined below:

  • We have the technology infrastructure for members of our firm to work remotely, if necessary.
  • Clients may submit documents to us via our secure web portal rather than by physically coming into the office.
  • Tax returns can be delivered by secure email and signed electronically.
  • We have a secure drop box located outside the rear building entrance (East Lobby), so information can be dropped off any time.
  • If you need to make special arrangements to deliver information or pickup returns, please let us know.

If your 2019 individual tax information is available, please submit to us as soon as possible.

We have communicated to our team members that if they have symptoms such as fever, sneezing, coughing, etc. we request that they stay home. The same applies to team members whom the CDC considers to be at high risk or has family members at risk or with symptoms.

For the time being we are discontinuing in-person meetings and limiting our office traffic to employees only. Please utilize our secure web portal, our drop box, or our mail slot to deliver any client documents. If you need to make other arrangements, please call or email us.

As always, please contact us with any questions or concerns.

Sincerely,

Mike Baker, Managing Partner
