If you have not received your refund, the IRS and state governments have tools  to check the status – including mobile apps. You’ll need basic data like your social security number and the exact amount of anticipated refund.

The IRS website updates only once per day, usually overnight – so there’s no need to check several times throughout a day. Usually your refunds will be issued in 21 days – 6 weeks (depending on whether you e-filed or paper filed), but you should call if it’s been more than 6 weeks or the Where’s My Refund? tool directs you to contact the IRS.
