Dent, Baker & Company, LLP is pleased to announce James Moody, CPA has become a partner in the firm. Also, Chase Baker CPA has been promoted to Senior Accountant.

James is a graduate of Samford University where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in accounting in 2006 and Master’s of Accountancy in 2007. He joined Dent, Baker & Company in 2006 and earned his CPA designation in 2007. James is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Alabama Society of Certified Public Accountants (ASCPA) where he currently serves as the secretary of the Birmingham Chapter. A native of Moody, Alabama, James still calls this town home with his wife Leslie and daughters, Lily and Leah. He serves as a deacon at Cedar Grove Baptist Church in Leeds and volunteers as the treasurer of its Child Development Center. In his free time, James enjoys mountain biking, hiking, spelunking and spending time with his family.

Chase Baker joined the firm in 2011 and in his role is responsible for assisting with the audits of small businesses and not-for-profit organizations as well as the taxation of closely held businesses and individuals. Chase participates in the Alabama Society of Certified Public Accountants (ASCPA), from which he received an Accounting Achievement Award, and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). He also holds memberships in the business fraternities Beta Alpha Psi and Beta Gamma Sigma. He is a graduate of Samford University, where he earned both his bachelor’s degree in accounting and his Masters of Accountancy, and recently received his CPA certification.  Originally from Dothan, Alabama, Chase now resides in Homewood. He’s a sports fan, particularly Alabama football and Braves baseball, and enjoys spending time with his girlfriend and two dogs
